Toronto, Canada's most populated city, is also the country's economic and financial hub. It is sometimes called the “Queen City” or “Hogtown” and until 1834, was named York. Head for the CN tower for a panoramic view of Toronto while enjoying lunch. If you are not afraid of heights, you may also venture out on the edge of the observatory at 356 metres above the ground. The fearless are obviously attached to a harness for a unique view of Toronto.

If you like festivals, the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF), one of the world's largest, takes place every year in September.

What to do around Toronto?

During certain periods of the year, such as summer, you can take a train from Toronto to Niagara Falls. You may also take a day excursion by bus. For more freedom, you can rent a car. For an even more amazing view of the falls, you can take a helicopter ride.

There are many attractions around Niagara. You may also see the falls from below or visit North America's largest butterfly sanctuary. Families with children will enjoy seeing the whales and orcas at Marineland. Everything is designed for family fun in Niagara. Finally, you can taste some fine wines from vineyards around Lake Ontario. Niagara is the first destination for wine tourism in Canada.

You may also visit other nearby cities such as Ottawa, Canada's capital, or Montreal. On the other side of the border, Buffalo is the closest American city to Toronto.
